What king of lovely bum?

Mouldy feed, frosty grass - which I deal with sometimes with younger horses, the older horses eat hay first then go for the grasses. To deal with that I always give feed and hay before turn out in the morning. Fill their tummies up. Changes in feed, not drinking enough water, being in a stall all day all the time, as you pointed out dirt - in sandy locations horses can get their stomachs filled with sand. And tumours… the great unknown.

I put chia seeds on Max's feed. Ordered on line for 25lbs and 50-75 dollars. It keeps things moving in times of stress and prevents colic. We haven't had any issues since starting it, and it has healthy fats too. They only need 1/4 cup per day, but on bad weather days, I use 1/2 cup. It lasts a long time.

GET UP!!!!!

Anyone who was following the thread in the days when Lilly was queen know how apprehensive i was about the day Aurora took over the tribe. I thought she might become the greatest terror the world has ever seen and make everyone's life. I could not have been more wrong.

While she still has her rough edges, I truly believe she cares about the others. Today she spotted a large hawk again before the song birds. We have all seen how she does bed checks to make certain everyone is where they should be at bedtime.

Aurora will stand on the porch at dusk after everyone else has gone to bed and stand watch for a while. Tonight Éowyn was out late and entered the run. Aurora immediately started squawking at the top of her lungs until I came and got the cat out. Once I got the cat out, she then went into the main coop and roosted.

She is even concerned about her old nemesis Hattie.

I caught this on camera this morning. The coop doors had opened and everyone was in the run but Hattie. Watch how Aurora decides to remedy the situation.

Awww I didn’t get a chance to see this till now - HRH really was looking for her wasnt she?

*BSO : Blue Splash Orange

I must correct, I defined that wrong. I didn't pay attention to what I typed when I posted the definition of BSO- it is actually Blue Silver Orange. (Goliath is blue silver orange)
Splash is SSO (Splash silver orange) these resemble red pyle.

It is obtained by breeding a gold based, blue rooster to a silver based hen.
