Guys? Confusion? 🤔

I thought you’d find this entertaining:
I’ve just hatched four of my silkies, they are from a ‘pure white’ cock in with three paint hens. I got two whites, one white with buff chipmunk stripes, and one blue partridge. I can’t figure it out at all, how would a pure white have non white/paint chicks? I’ll start a thread for this of my own, just thought you’d appreciate it after me trying to work out a similar thing with your birds.

I've got a friend who breeds paint silkies- she tells me white can go with paint as long as they are Recessive white. If they're dominant they'll throw partridge. Probably what's happening here. I've just had it happen actually 😂

The ones in my pfp is my paint pair- I have a white satin in with them also though.
What I'm finding weird with them is this morning I hatched a really black chick from the paint pair. Not sure if that's normal or not.

I'm also getting silver partridge looking ones from my blue silkie pair 🤦🏽‍♀️ I guess Partridge is common to be carried by silkies of most/any color.
These are those:

just realised that silkies have both types of white, not just dominant white. My rooster must be recessive white, with partridge underneath, and my the hen must be E/e^b, blue and I/i+ (blue paint).

I never realised most whites were receive white, I just assumed they were all dominant white if paints exist.

Don’t know if this gives insight for your silkies (they’re adorable) but I realise I’ve solved my question.

one of them does- there's 3 total. 2 have the white/pink skin, 1 has dark feet. Other then that they look the same color wise- maybe a few a tad lighter.
It’s probably a waiting game, as much as I’d like to think of a solution I’m not entirely sure on what genes are at play, this will become more apparent when older .

What if two paints threw partridge- Possible?
And thank you, even though they aren't what they were meant to be they sure are cute.

Yes, if both paints were heterozygous for extended black and partridge, there’s a 25% chance you get partridge, half white partridge, which will be faintly coloured like my white chick with buff stripes, the others normal (or blue/splash if they are blue paints).

what about blue and black-? Just got a dark blue look one from the pair this morning. And another dark looking one pipped from them.
