Hi, I have an injured chicken. A leg injury I have determined and have her secure away from the 2 others that survived a fox attack.

General care is to clean and flush wounds with saline, chlorhexidine or povidone Iodine. Apply triple antibiotic to wounds. If necessary, trim feathers away from wounds to help them stay cleaner.

Work on getting the bird through shock. Electrolytes or sugar water can be given. Once drinking, provide normal feed.
