The near future is snowy and cold. Snow removal will take priority over coop work but we had a nice day today to attach some of the 1/2" mesh hardware cloth to keep the predators out.

It snowed the bulk of the day so I worked in the shop painting and making a removable panel. The snow was pushed into the run so I came up with a solution to stop that.

A cold but otherwise clear day for coop / run work. I was hoping to make the door that came with the coop, work but the construction and the gaps around the outside would be more work than its worth.
We are supposed to get 6 to 12 inches of snow so I can work in the shop making the door.

Its a blizzard. Its a good day to build a door for the coop. At least a head start on a door. Its tough to start and finish a door in 1 day due to glue and paint dry times.

Good idea to replace that door. Not everyone has the skills to do that. The farmers around here use your shade screen technique on their cow barns. Cheaper than using wood or metal all the way up, and gives great ventilation in the warm weather.

We went from snow to rain. I stayed dry and finished the door for the chicken run. It came out as planned.
