Nuture Right 360- Shoe String Method

I have used a wick in the 360. I didn’t know it was called shoe string method! I used a cut out strip of blotting paper and it did work ok but I still had to keep my eye on how much wick was in the incubator.

It depends on the brinsea model if it will be as much work as the 360 humidity wise. If you get one with automated humidity it is easier to not have to mind it all the time.

I saw a post on FB too where a guy was doing that.
These are the pics he had posted. He said it made a huge difference.

I'm planning on trying it. I hate having to add fresh water all the time, mine are in the basement and we run dehumidifiers so it sucks the water out very fast.

I have a coozie on the incubator to keep the tempature stable. I am trying the shoestring method for the first time with 54 inch kiwi shoestrings. Along with a 1/2 gallon Mason jar.

I had to put a towel down because the water from the shoestring was wicking to the coozie. So it may not work like I planned.

Is the coozie something new too or have you used that before?
