In NL the lock down for hobby poultry keepers without staff or commercial activities means we have to avoid that our poultry can come in contact with wild poultry.

For many backyard chickens this only means that free ranging is not allowed anymore and it’s not allowed to spread the chicken poop. We don’t have to lock the chickens up inside a building or roofed run.

Commercial businesses and farms with staff or volunteers need to take more precautions.

The show went very well. Extremely well!!
I won one of those huge cups for one hen with the highest possible score.
Different other prizes... I had two hens with 90, which is just passing... all the way up to 97.
I was champion of our club even! I learned so much again....
There was a young poultry judge who gave me tipps for presentation of the birds and how to make them look better.... and last night we discussed each and every one of my 15 birds... who to take into the breeding program and who better not. So much stuff!!!
I made 35 Euros in prize money. Met wonderful people! And it looks like we will combine our clubs again for a local show. It was just soooo fantastic!!!

congratulations! I am not surprised at all!

Thank you all!!!! I am just soooo happy with the outcome!
hahaha I am surprised!!! I just kept seeing faults..
The question now is.... what on earth am I doing with this cup? It is such a dust catcher!!! I never wanted one...such a waste of money... I would have prefered 2 bags of feed instead... then I'd be over the moon.

In few weeks I'll take these three girls and a boy at my first show.

(He usually keeps his tail way better than this, especially today he kept it in a very good way, I regret that I didn't took a photo:confused:. He wasn't collaborative at all while I was taking these photos:oops:)

I know they aren't perfect at all, I yet see many things that I have to improve in the next years. By the way, I was told that it' harder to judge your birds because you see them every day (especially if you, like me, don't have much experience) so I'm open to criticism if someone sees something wrong with them which I may been missing:pop

good luck! I know how you feel. I just started 2 years ago... had not much input about the quality as there were no shows last year. This year I was able to attend the first show. You learn each and every time... maybe you'll meet a Brahma breeder that can help. Or get some tips in general about the presentation of your birds.
And yes, it is hard to judge...you might overlook little things... and a different breeder will see it immediately. On the other hand, I tend to be to judgemental. Like my birds were a lot better than I thought. So don't be too hard on yourself.... at least try.

They are beautiful!!! Good luck! And let us know how it turned out!!!
