Pure Silkies - Lets play the guessing game!

So, I have six three week old silkie chicks (yes they’re pure, even though one has a single comb.) and obviously it’s much too early to tell what gender they are BUT let’s have some fun and have a guess. I have one that I’m 100% sure is a boy off it’s comb alone! It is so much bigger more U shaped than the rest. Even it’s attitude and stance is incredibly roo like! I’m guessing that 3 are pullets and 3 are cockerel including the one I mentioned! Which is 50/50.

We’ll see if our guesses were right in the next few weeks!

It's definitely too early. Though I would agree some of the have large combs at a young age, and likely are cockerels. Good luck!

1 and 5 look the most like cockerels to me. More pics in a few weeks would be nice.

I’ll definitely update for sure.
I think 1 too, as well as 4 and 5. I hope I’m wrong on the other too because I was hoping for mostly girls. So I hope they are girls.

Aww, sorry for your loss. I just lost my leghorn Snow the other day, it truly sucks losing our beloved pets. I hope you get some more silkies, they’re great little birds!

UPDATE: Ended up with three cockerels and three pullets. I moved on the single combed silkie who was one of the cockerels.

Though big boo one of my pullets has come down with wry neck today. Supplementing vitamin E and selenium immediately. She’s not too severe and can still eat and drink and hold her head up normally at times. Though I have separated her from everyone else. She was fine yesterday but I suppose sometimes these things just happen.

Red partridge is a cockerel and so is the grey one. I could tell very early one as they had significant comb and wattle development even. They’re around nine ish weeks now. They all have names now too!
