Hmm, when I click on these, nothing happens.

However, after I quoted them, they became links, and then I could click , it opens in a new tab, and then I could click on it and save image. Only problem is that I'm almost out of memory on my phone, so I will probably have to delete them.

You "should" be able to right click and save - yes to your device - and reuse later.

Hopefully, after all the photos are restored from old BYC, you will be able to reuse from storage here on BYC - "recently posted" - like we did before.
