Do you think Hatcheries should use methods to kill off unhatched Cockerels during Incubation, leaving only Pullets to sell as day old chicks?
I have read different articles about methods now being used to determine Cockerels verse Pullet chicks during the hatching process.

Lots of people live in areas where cockerels are not allowed. I buy mostly sex-linked breeds to make sure I only get pullets. Of course, that means that for every pullet I buy, there is probably a day-old cockerel that gets killed off. I think that if they can identify and kill off unhatched cockerels during incubation, that would be a benefit to us all.

Having said that, I have working composting chickens that give me eggs as a bonus. I don't keep pet chickens. When my chickens are no longer producing eggs, they are stew meat. I take good care of my backyard flock, but they are not my pets.
