Hahaha! Well I have had these hands to "help" for the last year, now they are just legally my sons hands Both boys love to help out baking, so I should find a fun recipe on here to try out!
I know this is a dead thread, but incase anyone interested is still on BYC, we just finalized our sons adoption through foster care. It has been the most amazing/hard/rewarding/stressful experience of our life. I wouldn't change it for anything. The goal of the foster care system is...
Thank you! I am going to make a little more of an effort and do some baking. I've been wanting to do more, I have just been busy and unmotivated. I'm sure you have all been there
I don't think I will ever be able to read through all the pages! I have had my hands full with other things, so have not been on for months. I tried looking here and there, but I was overwhelmed by how far behind in all the forums I am. I'm going to look through a bit and maybe see about a...
Oh man, finally finished reading all the posts! Thumbprint cookies, breads, pies, rainbow cakes (made by your daughter appps Good job!)! You guys have been busy. Had it been raining everywhere this weekend? I have had a huge bucket and box full of apples in my garage for a week. I haven't had...
Well, I'm not doing anything as impressive as @ronott1s cake or @DigMyChicks cookies and apple crisp, but I'm making pizza for lunch for the daycare kids and me too. I'm making one with whole wheat crust and one with cauliflower crust. My son is coming home early today, my husband is at the...
We are adopting our foster son and he is three years old. I'm just happy the home study is over and now we just have to wait for adoption papers to be filed. We are in the home stretch. That is exciting for your aunt and uncle. It took us awhile to decide on how to expand our family, but we are...
Yummy, sounds like you guys are making some yummy things! I haven't been baking much lately, but I did make enchiladas today for the daycare kids lunch. It's nice to make things I can get ready in the morning before they come and then throw in at lunch time.
I do have some non baking news...
The pot luck was a lot of fun. Everytime I turned around I saw someone eating a brownie, so that was a great idea. The rolls were also eaten. Best of all, the boys had a blast playing with the other kids and passed out at bedtime.
Thanks! I think I will do brownies. Who doesn't like brownies? No one I want to know. Well, actually I'd be cool with that... more for me! I hope you have a fun/productive weekend of canning.
We are going to a pot luck tomorrow, I'm going to bring rolls, but I also wanted to bring a dessert that is okay to sit out. I was thinking brownies maybe. Anyone have any easy/yummy potluck dessert ideas? I'm going to look through the first post and see if anything pops out at me. I hope...
Not really baking, but this is what I did for my sons first day of first grade breakfast! Bacon eyebrows, mini waffle eyes with blueberries to make the eyeball, strawberry nose and banana mouth.
I saw the mini waffles at the store and though of this. I NEVER buy waffles, but I thought he would...
Yum! I need to order a new start. Mine never really got very good and I finally just threw it out. Everyone said to go to friends of Carl to order it, so I'm going to need to do that soon and make these!
How is everyone doing on the porch now that we are at the end of summer? My son officially started first grade today. I don't know how that happened! My husband stayed with the daycare kids so that I could bring him to his first day of school.
I hope everyone is doing well and had a great summer.
Hi Alice, those sound delicious, let us know how tasty they turn out :drool
They are yummy. I didn't roll them out thin enough though. I thought they were, but next time I'll have to make sure they are super thin!
