Membranes too dry?

I’ve got 3 pipped chicks but I’m wondering if the membrane is too dry?? My humidity is honestly probably too high at 78% so I’m not sure why they look so dry. Help!

As long as their air hole is still open they are fine. It is most likely just their membrane drying out from the chick preparing to hatch. If you are ever worried about humidity you need to have a second hygrometer as the ones in incubators are bad more often than they should be.

I learned that lesson the hard way! Two hygrometers this round

That is good. Just let them be and you should have babies within 24 hours.

I have one that pipped the shell but not the membrane… any thoughts?

I wouldn't worry for a bit. They can internal pip up to 36 hours before external pip so as long as it is the right side of the egg they still have air to breath for awhile.
