3-D printing

Id agree in getting a standby system.

Even with a generator on our old house when power did go out it didnt start quick enough to save the print. So a standby system works.

OK, so the netpune 4 max does not have built-in wifi. So, to connect it to your PC, you will need a small ethernet switch and a couple of cables. HOW specifically depends on how your internet is configured and whether or not your router is providing DHCP (most do but it really depends)

If you're seeing power blips, you want the printer, your router, AND your PC plugged into a UPS.

I know it came with a small antenna, and I think that’s how it connects to Wi-Fi. I actually tested it and was able to connect it to my phone hotspot. The problem is, I cannot connect it to my house Wi-Fi because some of the symbols used in my password are not on the Neptune 4 Max keyboard for some reason. The dollar symbol, for example, is not there.

I don’t understand it either.

I have an online friend who has a couple ender 3's and I asked him about what printer I should get. He told me to get a BambuLabs P1S. Then I consulted a cousin of mine who is a plastics engineer and he agreed that that was a great first printer. I've had a P1S for about 6 months now and have went through at least 4 spools of filament, my only issue is that for printing ABS you really need to slow down the default speed otherwise it prints thin noodles.

If you make your own models, what do you use? I use sketchup with a plugin that exports to stl

Solidworks.

Just updating you all, I finally got my 3d printer connected to the computer. I had to change my Wi-Fi password, which was a big hassle considering how many devices we have connected to Wi-Fi.

The reason I had to change it was this screen on the Neptune 4 Max printer.

Some of the symbols in my old password are literally not there.

Well, at least I got it working.

Right now I’m printing a Zelda BOTW chessboard. I did not design the chess pieces, but I designed the board.

I just need to print the squares.

Hm. Allegedly the july 2024 firmware update should have resolved the missing charset issues in the wifi setup screen. Do you know if you're on current firmware?

For refernce.

The Chess pieces loook like they'll be cool.

I did a firmware update the day I was installing the printer. It should be up-to-date. However, this problem is still persisting.

Maybe I did the wrong firmware, I don’t know.

Anyway, at least I’m printing now.

By the way, this is the knight.

Every time a knight captures a piece, I think to myself. “YAHAHA! I FOUND YOU!!!!”
