All indoor chickens!

Silkies make the best house chickens. They are fluffy, don't mind be carried around, and do well in a confined space. They do, however, require LOTS of upkeep. They must wear diapers when out of their cage as they will poop wherever. And the smell can be overpowering at times. They do have dander that will create dust. So, if you are willing to do the work, take proper care of a house chicken, the go for it.

If your parents don't want them, I guess you're out of luck for a while.
Plus, you would be very sad if your dogs killed them.
Chickens really are outdoor animals. Among their favorite routines are scratching in dirt for bugs and seeds as well as dust bathing. I doubt they could do those things inside your home.
For the chickens' well being, they should be allowed to pursue those activities.
Yesterday i put my chickens outside so i could just watch them while they played in the front yard but they ran straight back to the door and ran in when i opened it. They really dont like being outside.

my rooster is an indoor one. he has an outdoor house he sleeps in at night most of the time but he has a perch on my bed's headboard that he will sleep on sometimes. he is trained to let me know when he wants to go outdoors to poop, which is about every half hour. if i don't want to let him out every half hour i'll just put his litter box under where he perches to catch his poop

My chickens dont have diapers, i just keep paper towels with me whenever they are inside and i only let them wander around in the living room and the hallway. I put little paper towels with food and stuff in little hidden spaces around the living room for them to find. They love searching for the food and it keeps them from getting bored. The white one (snowball, a cockerel) loves cuddles, and the brown one (cricket, a pullet) loves exploring the house and trying to find ways into the kitchen.

When I raise chicks in the brooder house, I open the door on most days to let them roam. Some batches of chicks will go right out, some are scared to do so and may stay in the building for a month or more before venturing out.
In your scenario, it's likely because they aren't used to being outside. It doesn't mean they shouldn't be outside.
As poultry husbandrymen, it's our responsibility to give them what they need, not necessarily what they want.

I imagine you haven't experienced chicken diarrhea yet.

I used to take them outside everyday because my grandma didnt like them, but now she has started warming up to them so i dont have to have them outside as much. So it cant be because they arent used to it.
