All depends on the egg maker lady. We shall see! Her laying schedule is strange this year.

Well, I hope to see some emu hatchers in this year's hatch-along! And I would love to see an emu chick win the cutest baby fowl contest!

Holy cow… 17 days between egg #4 and egg #5. Such a difference from last season. Longest stretch was 6 days. I wonder if the birds know when cold snap is going to happen and try to hold off laying. The chimkens just picked back up and now getting a couple dozen per day.

Hopefully the wait for #5 to have a buddy won’t be too long!

The first two eggs put in the incubator 12/11 have a strong lean to one side now. Hoping they’re fertile! They were the first laid this year. On day 28.

After having to put down two of my babies on Friday, I’ve been depressed and sick. Been trying to figure out how to get out of the funk. Sushi was not quite 6 months old and Beau just turned 6 yrs old. Ive spent every moment with little Sushi since we picked her up from the breeder.

Unprovoked, Beau grabbed little Sushi and shook her. With blood all over me, somehow managed to gather myself enough to get out the door and rush to the emergency vet. X-rays showed she couldn’t be saved. So I said my good byes, I’ll miss my little Squishy Then we made the tough decision to euthanize Beau. Being a power breed and already using 3 strikes, this was the last straw. Rehoming would have been a liability I couldn’t hand off to anyone else.

No, I don’t dress my dogs up. Friend gave her that jacket

Stubborn, but wonderful to me, Bubs will be missed just as much.

I want to be happy about finding 6 hidden emu eggs this morning, but I can’t. Would like to just stop crying.

Ok… now to find something to do.

As in, this past Friday? That's really not a long time at all. Please be kind to yourself and give yourself a lot of time and space to grieve. That's a horrible thing you just went through. I'm so sorry. Hugs
