Yay! Isn't that a great feeling? Also, I love your garden! I wish we had one like that. Do you grow anything for your chickens?
This is the first year I’ve lived at this house so I’ve just been putting a lot of work into reviving the soil, the chickens got some watermelon out of the garden and they’ve been snacking on the cowpea leaves all summer, I also give them little treats of basil and then any scraps that are edible, I also built a smaller garden next tot heir coop that has a couple pumpkins in it, I plan on making it a chicken forage area as the pumpkins die off this winter

My barred rock isn’t doing well she has a droopy tail and is lethargic and isn’t moving much, her skin is pale in hoping if just heat exhaustion and not something worse…

I got her to drink some electrolytes but she’s pale and weak and not eating, really concerned it may be coccidiosis

BenisonsChickns, how is she doing today?
She’s had a few soaks, this morning she was a little more active I’ve seen her eat a little and drink some water but she’s just laying around again this afternoon, my girlfriend said she could feel the egg in her so hopefully she can pass it in the next day or so….

It won't hurt her any to soak her backside again with some Epson salt in the water. I hope that she gets back to normal for you soon.

We may have solved the third white egg mystery. Today we got an interestingly mottled greenish egg which we think came from our Easter egger, Speedy (she loves to run everywhere, has ever since she was a one-day-old chick). Maybe her body is still figuring out how to coat the eggs so her first egg was just white, then her second egg was part white and part green. I wonder if her next one will be all green.

Looks like we'll be back in double digit temps beginning next week. Hooray!
