Barnevelder Egg Laying Question

Edited to add: Just in case, I think I'll lock her in the other pen with the new layers for a week (she gets along great with them) and see if she lays for me. Only two of them are laying and the eggs are smaller - if she does lay an egg, I'll know.

That picture was taken in the first few weeks of getting eggs - some of the eggs were still on the small side. The hens are 1 year old now and all the brown eggs are a little bit lighter now, but bigger (they should darken up again after my chickens molt).

I have two Barnes that will be one year old next week. One laid for about three weeks last fall and just up and quit. The other has never dropped a single egg. My Brahma and Orpington are laying almost everyday. Is there something wrong with my twins or am I being impatient?

Barnevelder are inconsistent and poor layers. I think breeders focus more on the color of the egg and the birds so production suffers. Don't expect too many eggs out of your girls.
