how does one go about breeding black? where we live we only have bantam black but I'm wondering within the large fowl colours is there a possible colour combination to produce black? Colours available are, white, gold laced, silver laced, buff laced,blue/splash/black laced any helpful information would be much appreciated.

Black genetics could be hiding beneath the Recessive White but that would just be luck of the draw. More likely they have silver laced genetics underneath or something like that.
Black Wyandottes are Partridge based like the other varieties but they have melanizers not present in the others. Certainly, they must have Melanotic like laced Wyandottes but no Columbian like laced Wyandottes, but I don't know what other melanizers they would have. Perhaps it is unknown, or perhaps they could be created by crossing partridge and laced to eliminate Columbian and produce double laced and then select for more and more black. But this is just a theory, I have no idea if that would actually work.

Oops forgot yes we do actually have partridge large fowl here not many thou, which of the laced colors would I cross with the partridge then? I have no idea if it would work either but you seem very knowledgeable in the genetics department something that is still a work in progress for me.

I wouldn't recommend it simply because I don't know that that would actually work, I was sort of thinking out loud.
