I have three 8 week old Light Brahmas. I am 99% sure one of them is a rooster.

I have 2 toddlers and just had to re-home our polish rooster due to aggression towards them.

Just looking for other people's experience with Brahma Roos. Aggresive or not? Thanks.

I had one and he was very protective of his gals. I ended up having to get rid of him. He would charge my wife and luckily my kids were to scared to go in the fence. But you never know. He may end up being the nicest rooster ever.

my brahma hens are so sweet, but my old rooster was a nightmare, he was so aggressive, now I have some chicks and I hope there will be a kind rooster there that won't attack me, my hens are never aggressive and they let me pet them, so brahma is a great breed, I was just really lucky (not) to get a mean rooster

They were bred for meat, rather unsuccessfully because they grow incredibly slow, they have more recently been bred for feathers and size. At no point have they been bred for temperament on a breed wide scale. This means results may vary. If you want a rooster that is guaranteed to be good with kids, pick a breed that the roosters have often been intensively handled by kids for thousands of years.

Do you have any breed suggestions?

idk if you want bantams but most bantam roosters are the sweetest ever. if you want a bigger bantam roo i have never met a aggressive silkie rooster.

Where did you regime your Polish to? Looking for options; I have a year old Buckeye roo. I think that with Brahmas, as with many breeds, it depends on the rooster. You can keep him and if he starts to behave rudely, get rid of him, or if you aren’t willing to take that risk, get rid of him now. It’s easier to get people to take babies than adults, but if you want to try go for it :)
