So this is for those of you who have the Britetap nipple waterer. Does yours leak? I am having issues with 1 of my 2 nipples leaking. I'm not sure if it gets stuck or what but it will run 5 gallons of water out of it when it leaks.

Have any of you had this issue, if so, how did you resolve it?

TIA :hugs

Is it possible to replace the nipple? Vertical nipples are known to leak sometimes.

Good question. Today I am going to see if it can come out, as I have others I can use in it's place. I have other vertical nipple waterers that dont leak but they are in just a regular 5 gallon bucket and I was hoping to use the britetap in the cooler to keep the water colder on these hot Tennessee days this summer

Had similar issues with two 5-gallon buckets. took nipple apart and fixed- no more leaks

Where is it leaking: from the attachment hole or where the nipple comes out.

If Attachment: take out and wrap with silicone tape (white plumbing tape) and should tighten up and stop leaks. Can also use a silicone caulk.

If from Nipple: here is a PDF file on fixing

It is actually leaking from the little metal part that they peck at to get the water to come out. It's like it get stuck open.

Sounds like it might be that spring issue. Is it possible for me to just replace the entire nipple? I have plant of the individual nipples

Can you take it apart?- I included directions (in the PDF file). Pretty quick fix. The spring is too small to work properly. Just needs to be bent a little then reassembled and it works fine.

I am going to work on it this weekend. I work long hours during the week, so it has to wait. I am using my old hanging bucket nipple waterers for now. I hope I can fix it bc 1) that Britetap was expensive lol and 2) I really need something that keeps my water cool/cold in the summer.
I will let you know of I am able to fix it... thank you for your help!
