Hello!
Barley been a day but I’m back here this time with what I think is a broken leg. I’m not sure I have a silkie chicken her name is Kitty she’s about 3 months old and I walked into the garage this morning to find her acting dead and my barred rock rooster (who isn’t a bantam but we haven’t had any issues until now and I’m not even sure he did it but I’m moving them into separate containers anyways.) standing over/on her I took her out and she couldn’t stand and was kinda acting like we was stubbornly sunbathing without the sun. I picked her up and held her straight but every time I let go she would just lay back down eventually I got her to the point where she figure it out she could stand on her own but she’s all wobbly leaning mostly on her right side and using her left wing for balance by dragging it on the ground. I have her in a separate container now away from everybody else I felt around and the only thing I could tell that feels off is that her left hip bone is a little more away from her hip-socket than her right hip is. I felt her silkie sibling and her right hip feels normal when compared to the silkie who isn’t having any trouble. What do I do here? I could technically take her to a vet to get x-rayed but the vet here is extremely pricey and while he does know his stuff and has seen chickens and other farm animals before he’s super busy and it’s more likely for me to get one of the transfer vets from out of state who hasn’t seen farm animals before. Im not sure what to do here I have some supplies and I could go out and get more but im not sure what to get all videos of people helping their chickens with bad legs/hips don’t seem to be similar situations.
She’s eating and drinking fine and pooping but she’s not as vocal as she normally is. I’ve moved her so she’s by me and I have a friend at the house helping me but we are both not sure what is up.
