Bug found inside a boiled egg!

I’ve never come across this but my daughter found this hard shelled bug in the egg white! I get our eggs from a friend’s neighbor that has her own chickens. I’ve read that bugs can crawl up a chickens vent & wind up in the egg?? is this the probable reason for this?

It does not look like a bug to me. It looks like a meat spot.
Can you cut the egg in half and get some more pictures or see if there are more of those inside the egg?

That looks like a piece of tissue from the oviduct, it can be an occasional thing or mean an infection.

I don't know about this but my wife cracked open an egg today from one of our hens that had what looks like a mini chicken strip in it. The object was about 5/8" long and 3-16" in diameter I'd hate for a customer to have gotten that egg.

Did you happen to take a picture? This may be lash material which means infection.

Welcome to BYC! I think that's a meat spot, or some form of tissue. Do you know how old the hens are?

No. It did look like a lash egg but I didn't think a lash egg would have a shell over it. My wife has already tossed it in a sack of garbage in the big can. I wish I had photographed it now.
