+1 on the coturnix choice. Granted that I don't have any experience with other types of quail, but coturnix are very easy to manage and maintain. As I understand it, most other quail require permits to raise, but coturnix don't in many jurisdictions. That was one of the things I considered before getting quail. I'd rather not have to get a permit just so I can raise animals to eat.Thanks for your input! I’ll most likely go with them when the time comes
