They will eat it not ground----if they are good size chickens. Scratch feed has more than corn in it. Deer corn and shelled corn are the same. I buy my corn by the bushel and at this time I get it for $4.85 per 50lbs---a bushel is 56lbs, but I am figuring the cost of 50lbs. I usually get 30 to 35 bushels---close a ton each trip. Keep in mind that corn is not a complete diet so you will have to supplement their diet with something "better" if you want them to grow and lay good. I buy bags of supplement to mix with the ground corn to get it to about 16% protein.

Ok thanks. Corn is not being their only food, I'm going to have a feeder of regular food and a feeder of corn.

Listen---these are your chickens---and you can do them any way you want----I would just recommend not using 2 feeders like that. Corn should be given as a treat---kinda----if free fed---they might mainly eat the corn and not a lot of the better feed---which would not be as good for them.

I will put some in a hanging feeder every once in a while then, if I put it on the ground tons of ants come for it.
