Thank you and I appreciate all of your efforts in making this forum and helping out a duck mommy like me in knowing everything about raising ducks and keeping them happy and safe.
So I have domesticated ducks at home. All pekin ducks. Loves of my life.
Yesterday while I was holding (not going to say my favorite) female pekin duck, her name is Yellow -because she was a bright yellow color as a duckling- I noticed some blood drops on the pad which I put underneath her. After investigating, I saw it was coming from her right foot from what it seemed like a blister, which worries me a lot of it being bumblefoot.
I cleaned it and sanitized it. Today it seemed to have dried out and she is walking fine like there is nothing.
I have attached some photos for reference
Please tell me what it could be. I am sick worried.
A while back and after reading a lot on the forum, I’ve decided to make their bedding as towels and change them daily or twice a day which made them dirty all the time laying in poop, so I changed it with a layer of elevated cage flooring on top of the towels which seems to solve the issue, separating them from the towels. Could it be the issue now? Is it hurting her tiny feet?
Best regards,
Yara
