I was hoping to avoid another post. Guess I'm not so lucky. Candelabra vanished for about a week. He came back yesterday afternoon. He now has very runny poo. As in he has the squirts. There's no blood or anything in it.

What can I do for it? He's currently on chick starter to keep him out of the baby prn.

Does he have any other symptoms? Lethargic, weight loss, refusing food?
Is it hot where you are? Many things can contribute to diarrhea, worms, stress, heat, increase water intake. Is it white? Straight water color? Pictures really help. Any idea where he vanished to?

He's fine otherwise. He keeps letting himself out to guard my five babies. I've had to lock him up. He's porking on the food/water. No weight loss. He's super active. Earlier he was crowing.

We're pretty sure he hid under a ground level deck for the week. We put food under there just in case. It's been very cold here. We actually had a hard freeze just hours after I found him. It's been in the 30s ever since.

His poo is very runny brown. I think it was green earlier? I'll get a picture next time he poos.

Could need a deworming or could be due to the stress from the cold and being his for that amount of time. If he has no major symptoms then I wouldn't worry to much. It's ok the 70s here and my birds have all types of pops but are otherwise healthy. Whole corn or cracked corn is good to help him keep warm it's good energy food for cold weather.

This is what his poo looks. He did one large poo, then three or four within about five minutes. The big one had some tiny solids once the liquid for soaked up in my cloth.

It's still super watery tonight. I had to bathe him earlier and it's right back. Still nothing else wrong that I can see.

I would just monitor him for new symptoms and if none appear I wouldn't worry to much. Stress is a big trigger for them and it can cause all kinds of things from stomach upset to behavior issues. I typically don't like to treat with medication unless absolutely necessary. One of my roosters is molting right now and he's a complete different boy he's got diarrhea as well and he's hiding and doesn't like being picked up. Once his molt is complete he will be back to himself . Hope your guys poo gets better!

I hope it's just stress. Poor guy has had a rough week. First he had a car ride to my place so he lost his flock and was spooked. Then I got some horrible personal news. So just as he settled in (two days I think) I had to drop him off at a neighbor. She wasn't thinking and left him with her hens. Who beat him up. So he hid under her deck for nearly a week in the freezing temps, with little to no food for the first few days. We rediscovered him just as the winds were picking up. Three hours later a hard freeze began to settle in. Then he came back here to find his new coop taken by tiny babies. He's both obsessed with getting to them and furious. Finally I had to bathe him to get the poo off. He's going to need another one, sadly.

Since he's been missing for a week I want to be sure he hasn't gotten sick with something. He's obsessed with the chick food so I'm giving him that. Last thing I want is a sick chick literally hours after saving another chick!

Is there a timeframe I'm looking at for his poo to return to normal? Like a week or so? Love this dude to death, but he's messing all over my kitchen floor and it's harder to clean up as a liquid.
