Caring for Salmon Faverolles with Chronic Bumblefoot | A Journal with Pictures

I’m sorry that I cannot help you. I want to tell you how much I admire you and all your efforts! Brie is so lucky that you are her Mom. I have followed this without saying anything but felt I needed to share my thoughts.
I also want to say, if, stress IF it is her time, know that you have done everything possible. 🩷

@Elspeth Dinsmore I had a bout of very stubborn bumble foot on one of my older girls a couple of months ago. I tried everything. I must say it did NOT look as severe of a case as your Brie's. The ONLY thing that helped my girl turn the corner was colloidal silver. I don't know if you can get any where you are, but what I did was after cleaning, soaking, removing the scab and pushing out a lot of pus, I dried it with gauze and put 2 drops of the colloidal silver into her wound. I then packed her wound with neosporin w/o pain relief, then I sprayed vetrecyin (sp)? spray on the entire foot and up her leg. I let that dry then wrapped her foot well with a gauze pad compressing the wound under the vet/sports wrap. I changed her dressing every other day.

I also gave her 2 drops a day in her water. I did this for about 5 days. I was amazed at her turnaround. She must have had not only the infection in her foot, but maybe it became systemic too. I am NOT a vet so I am just guessing. I wish I could find the article I read that showed CS being effective against the resistant strain of staph (MRSA). I was talking to my friend who is a nurse and she said they use CS in hospitals all the time.

I hope you can get some of this and try it. I hope it helps your girl too.

You did help me with your kind words! Thank you so much for being so thoughtful! It means a lot to me! It is very kind of you to say! 💗
I wouldn't be able to do all this to take care of Brie without my family. They have worked hard to help me. My mom, especially, does a ton of research and buys the supplies for me to use. 😊
I'm so sorry Brie isn't doing well! I hope she pulls through. Sounds like she's hanging in there though. :hugs

I'm not sure what to do, so I'll tag @azygous since she's helped you before.
Thank you so much, Tookie! You have faithfully come along side to help me through this. :hugs It's very kind of you to tag Ms. Azygous as well! That helps a lot. She's awesome. 😁

This is such helpful information! Thank you so much for taking the time to type this up to help me. Is there any specific brand you purchased that we could try? (We are in the US.) I would love to use this as soon as possible on Brie. It looks amazing. Thank you again for the help!

This is exactly what I think is going on with my little Brie as well! I really appreciate your help!

I used Sovereign silver. Mine is 10ppm but you can get higher. This is a highly trusted brand. I have no affiliation, just have tried other brands that I wondered if there really was any CS in it at all. I have gotten the best results with this brand and it didn't take more than a couple drops on the wound as well as orally in their water ONLY for 5 days straight tho. I got it on Amazon, btw.

Dont know if it is true, but I am reading in various articles with the over use of antibiotics the ONLY thing these germs can't develop a resistance to are natural anti-bacterials like CS and Oregano oil. DO NOT put Oregano Oil on yourself or your pet without diluting. I would DEF NOT use it on cats. Most essential oils are toxic to cats I am told by my vet. I can't even diffuse them in my house with my little fur ball living here.

Thank you so very much for this information! It really helps to know what brand you tried! I will look into getting this. I really want to try it! 😁

In the meantime, before I get it ordered and it arrives, the Lord provided some Colloidal silver that my Grandmom already had! I was telling her about Brie and your suggestion of using Colloidal silver. She got really excited when she realized she already had some, and ran into the other room to get it for me! I am so thankful God provided it. I already put some on her foot when I treated her today.

The Nutri-Drench arrived as well! We gave her some today. She's been doing okay for now. Here she is resting outside on a bar:

We totally agree! My mom has a book about herbal antibiotics that has to do with the rising problem of antibiotic resistance. Each time I use oregano oil, I dilute it in a balm or in her water baths. I may have diluted it too much though. Thank you for all your help!
