Cayuga Duck Incubation - yellow spot in egg, active duckling

This my first time hatching ducklings (hopefully). I only had 3 eggs incubating, and 2 made it to 5 days before set hatch date.
I candled them for the last time today and noticed a few things.
  1. I think my humidity was too high given the size and shape of the air sac, I need an extra thermostat yada yada.
  2. I have one egg with an extremely active duckling. Even as a tiny embryo, it was wiggling like crazy.
  3. The egg mentioned above had a yellow spot. Clearly it was on the inside of the egg. The duckling was active and pushing on the membrane inside when I candled. I wonder if the yellow spot was the yolk? It almost looked like a paint splatter.
I am praying for ducklings, they are so wanted! Has anyone had this happen before?
Also, if only one hatches, do I run out and try to find a local duckling for company OR do I have a velcro duck and pray it will bond slowly with my other ducks when it's time?

Thank you so much!

Welcome to BYC! Where is the yellow spot?
Hey there!

It is on the side but between the air sac and darker part of the egg. The darker part being the duckling and inside the membrane. I'm terrified its struggling or something. I feel ridiculous!

That might be where it is trying to pip.
Thank you! I am wondering if I should stop the auto turner, but worry about the other egg. technically it would be "early" but no matter how we meddle, nature sometimes has other plans.

What day are they and what's your humidity?
My humidity is 60% right now. This morning I woke up in a panic because it had dropped drastically due to the temp fluctuation in the house. (It went from 75 yesterday to 45 today.) I don't think it had dropped for long but still I know that can be BAD. They are day 26. Now that I counted .. i guess that wouldn't be early. Oh my gosh.

If you end up with one you have options. My last singleton is my head drake now. Let us know if this happens.
Thank you so much! I will keep you posted. I'm more nervous about all the horror stories I hear about them being shrink wrapped etc. Fingers crossed!
