Change of plans

Zoe and Judith went to their new home today, all the chicks should be gone by Sunday. I'll be filling 1 incubator with 12 blue wheaten OE's, 6 orp mixes, and 6 F2 OE's for a gal who has bought chicks from me a couple times and filling the maticoopx with my Marans eggs, I'll grab a pic after I collect eggs today.

I've only seen Langdon breed Cersei once since she quit brooding, but I gathered all the eggs she's laid and I love the progression of darkness! I've decided not to set any of Fiona's eggs, they are constantly light and very pointy, so all these eggs are from Cordelia and Cersei.

Hatch is finally done! All of them hatched but the last little pipped on the wrong end so I made sure she had a hole to breath through, she finally hatched not 15min ago and seems to have quite the sack still attached. I'm hoping she pulls through, will update in the morning🤞❤️

Well it's still alive, I cleaned it up a bit with warm water and a wash cloth (it's got a yolk coating on it) it could use more but I don't want it getting chilled. I had to cut the dried umbilical cord then put some Vaseline on it. It's in it's own brooder with food and water, hasn't touched either but it did take some egg yolk from me and some poultry cell. It's just so tiny! On a brighter note things are extremely peaceful in the flock now that the 2 bullies are gone and the 5 blue wheaten OE chicks got picked up this morning. The other chicks will be picked up this afternoon (I told the fella about this little chick, if he wants it I won't charge him for it, if he doesn't I'll keep it and try my best to get it all fixed up) Stay tuned...

The last couple of days have just been wild! I was working in the garden and heard broody sceeching, looked into the run and Onyx was having a fit while trying to dust bathe. I went back out later after feeding tiny Tim and she was full blown crazy time in the nest box. I gave her 7 of the marans eggs that were in the incubator.

Well this little booger is still alive and actually took a poop finally. I was feeding it a mix of egg yolk, all flock and a drop of poultry cell every few hours yesterday out of a water bottle cap. The gentleman that got the rest of the chicks didn't want it so I guess I'm raising a house chick for a bit until it's ready to go outside.

Good luck with your little one...
Hoping for the best. ♥️
