Does anybody know where I can get those thin cardboard chick boxes like the kind they give you at the farm store when you buy chicks? You know, the foldable ones like McDonald's happy meals used to come in. I sell small numbers of chicks locally and need to get some sort of inexpensive boxes to be able to give away with the chicks when people pick them up. Anybody got ideas? Thanks!

Hi, thanks all. Yes, I know about the Priority Mail boxes. I have them for shipping eggs, and I did use one in a pinch because I had a customer with no box and nothing else to use, but I definitely don't want to do that regularly. I'd rather find something more suitable . . . and legal. After seeing what ShaggysGirl posted about Drs. Foster and Smith I thought that was a great idea but still a little pricey to regularly give away for free, and I don't want to have to ask people to pay for a box, so I did some more searching and came up with this: http://www.papermart.com/Product%20Pages/Product.aspx?GroupID=5290&SubGroupID=5291&ParentGroupID=20648#5291

The
Kraft style is just simple brown cardboard, which is fine. I'd have to put some ventilation holes in them, but the price would be right, and I think 9 x 6 x 6 would be a good size for people just getting 10-20 day-old to week-old chicks (and they wouldn't be in the box for long if it's a local pickup).

Thanks so much for your help everybody!
