It’s extremely accurate, and has even gotten my most recent chick’s coloring guesses right.

this was when I crossed my black Cochin to my White tailed red Cochin mix, and sure enough, the chicks ended up being white & black with some leakage of either.

I will be coming back to this, for sure, as I learn more. What would help me understand this better would be a description/picture of what the symbols translate into visually. Or a basic book on genetics and coloring, maybe, if someone can recommend one? I don't see myself getting into breeding, but you never know how chicken math will affect you!

Just tried it! This year I have crossed a silver spangled male (Spitzhauben) with a silver laced hen (Sebright) and sure enuf, I got what they describe--- all are black patterned silver halfspangled offspring! I like to call it 'spanglaced'
