Chicken laying eggs without a shell

Hi folks,
I have a blue Andalusian hen who I believed had stopped laying eggs a few weeks ago. Today I saw her crouch and out came this:

Now that I’ve seen this happen, I realize that she’s probably been doing this for some time, but likely has been eating her shell-less eggs (or another chicken has).

Any advice as to how to remedy this?

Probably a lack of Calcium. Be sure that your flock has access to crushed oyster shells or crushed egg shells. In order for your hens to have thick egg shells, they need calcium... With age comes less reliable reproductive systems, decreases in eggs, and sometimes more malfunctions in the egg laying process.
Another reason could be stress or predators because Hen's bodies form their eggs while they sleep. If for some reason, they are startled in the night from a predator’ visit, sometimes eggs can be laid without shells. Anytime the flock is under stress such as molting, predators, excessive temperatures, change in the flock etc. Could result in soft shelled eggs.

Any advice as to how to remedy this?

How old are your birds...and how long have they been laying?
What all and how exactly are you feeding them?
Good eggs need calcium, yes, but also the vitamins/minerals/amino acids to process that calcium.
And last but not least....
Where in this world are you located?
Climate, and time of year, is almost always a factor.
