I built this coop using 4'x5'9" yellow pine pallets I got for free. I also got +qa super deal on some warped 2x8's and a couple of slightly damaged 4x8 panels and of course screws. Total cost less than $50.
My chickens love it. There is a child size bean shaped pool filled with sand for a sand bathing pit. It has a cardboard box in the corner with straw. A platform in the opposite corner for food and water. Then a plastic kitty litter box with straw and the floor is covered in straw.
