I want to share some pictures and stories of my little flock of pekins, especially since we have some eggs incubating and incoming fluffy butts, this is a place I will share pictures and info about my small flock in Australia, and troubleshoot any ongoing issues :)

Introducing the members:

We have two mealy grey girls, one black and one lavender Pekin, and our new additions, two little chicks, not sure what colour they will be, open to naming suggestions:)

The first one pictured is super friendly and sits on everyone’s lap, the black chooky is the second in command, lavender is a bit of an outcast, the second grey girl is the boss, and the best layer.

The little chicks are the only two out of twelve eggs that successfully hatched, from shipped eggs, both only a week old

I’m having some feather picking issues, the boss chicken is giving all the other girls bald spots on their necks, how can I help to stop this before it gets worse? I’d like to let them free range but we just had a few cases of avian flu around our area, would letting them free range help?
