Dark Brahma roo? I think

DE won't cure any active infestation. It MAY help limit new infestations from happening but it won't cure one.

For leg mites soak the legs in a warm epsom salt bath, scrub gently with a soft toothbrush, pat dry then slather in vasaline. You will need to treat every day or two to smother the mites. Everyone in the coop will need checked and treated.
Legs take a Looooong time to get looking better. The scales will likely remain raised for months.

I'll check them closely tomorrow morning. Thank you again for the heads up

You were right about the mites on Elvis' legs and feet. I gave him a permectrin bath and covered his feet in vaseline. When I looked at his feet closely I could see red irritation. Just wanted to say that you have some pretty good eyes and thank you for helping me fix him up.

The consensus seems to be that Elvis is an Olive Egger roo. I incubated 21 eggs. 15 hatched. 8 French Black Copper Marans and 7 Olive Eggers. The remaining 6 eggs were apparently unfertilized and were just yolk inside.

The chicks are 5 days old now and are real beauties. I can't wait to see what they look like as they grow.
