Day 24 float test should i help

I have one egg on day 24 one on day 19 all of my eggs have diffrent hatch dates I keep a hatch calander for each one. They are silkie eggs. It has been opened a few times after day 21 to see if it was still alive.

Thank you. Most people want jewelry electronics for Christmas for me I want my chicks lol some may say I'm weird but that is a gypsy for you. I'm such a darn tree hugger.

Usually on day 19 you will still see veins. They don't totally absorb them until just before hatching. There are even some residual ones left that never get absorbed.
Hi,
Thank you for your advice so the first one that is on day 24 veins are looking lighter dose this mean it could be getting ready to hatch? Also the number 19 I have read of silkies coming early could that be the case as to why there seem to be only a few veins toward the chick and not at the air sac anymore or would you call that a quitter?

I know this is stressful, but hang in there! :hugs
Ok, lemme ask a question, just to verify, because it's a common mistake... you are not starting your day count until 24 hours after setting the eggs, right?? Day 1 doesn't actually start until 24 hours after set. I count the first 24 hours as day zero.

So, assuming the one really is on day 24, I sadly don't hold alot of hope for, but stranger things have happened. I think you just need to leave it, and see what happens.
The day 19 egg, I'm not sure i understand, but if you are still seeing veins, that's fine. If you don't see any, then it could still be ok, or it may have quit. If it is still alive, almost the entire egg should be dark. If you see much clear area, there are usually still veins present. But yes, silkies do have a tendency to hatch early, sometimes day 20. So it could be getting close.
What did you see?

On silkie day 19 it had faint veins on day 18 and was moving. Now day 19 the veins are gone it kinda looks like some are where the chick is . And it looks as if the air sac has went from the top and down the side all the way to the small end of the egg on one side the other side is just dark.
