Our house cat, Beans, attacked one yesterday. I managed to get it away from him, but it was badly injured.
I took it, and many more I had captured, to Goodwill where they have some sort of release program. I think they call it 'recycling'. or something like that.

You guys crack me up.

Many times I have been bewildered by the winsome beauty of these untamed creatures in flight- particularly on a breezy Fall day during migration season, prior to the abundant breeding season (Christmas shopping month). The ethereal cyclonic flight pattern in confined spaces is a paradoxical dance, especially when the fallen leaves rise and fall as if choreographed in unison.

I have oft spied a sad singlet trapped high in a bare tree in Winter- I suspect this is a loner who has become separated from its flock, dashing itself in misery amongst the barren branches in its final, sorrowful gesture.
