Does anyone know how to care for a baby barn swallow?

Good news! Just saw an adult feed the little guy! If he's being fed, does that mean it's safe to put him back in the nest? Perhaps after dark?

You can reach the nest? If you can reach the nest just put him back now lol they'll alarm call and tizzy about for a bit, but once you're out of sight they should be right back to normal! Plus then the chick isn't at risk of dehydration etc.

thank goodness! I was worried a predator might get to the baby before its parents would, glad I was wrong

I put the baby back a few days ago, just forgot to update you all. I've been keeping an eye on him, and yes, the mama was not happy with me when I out him back, but he hasn't been pushed out and I think he's growing strong with the other babies

Sometimes when I like my head out the door to check on him, he looks out over the nest wall to watch me. I Luke to think he's saying hello/thanks. ♡
