The handsome culprit...

Probably the best rooster I've ever had: helps feed the chicks whenever we have them and once charged a large dog that got into the yard (no casualties thanks to him)!

The last update for this thread: Margo has returned full swing to her pre-attack egg laying schedule. Luckily the two hens above her in the pecking order didn't give her much trouble when returning to the flock full-time. She's even more friendly with me too: previously she was a "Do not lay hands upon me, I am an ancient beast in mortal flesh. Be gone, fiend!" type of bird. Now every morning she hops on top of the feed barrel for "quality testing" and pets :]

Thank you for keeping the thread updated and documenting her progress, it's nice to be able to see the outcome whether good or bad. Often a thread dies or there's never any more information and it really leaves one wondering what happened.

Wow that’s a terrible injury. Some blue kote would be good. She should heal fine it’s infection that you have to worry about.
