She was attacked Sunday. It looks like it’s just the skin peeled back. She’s been kept inside and I’ve been spraying with Vetericyn a few times a day. She definitely seems more alert today and has been eating and drinking. Anything else I should Be doing??

Can you get a closer picture? It sounds like she’s doing good.If you have some triple antibiotic that may help her.

I am Going to get some ointment tomorrow. I did give her some aspirin in some scrambled eggs today.

There is a fishy smell. I’ll try and cut some feathers. I just Don’t want to cause her more pain. 😔
Sorry to hear about your hen.

You can find Chlorhexidine (Hibiclens) and Triple antibiotic ointment at stores like Walmart, CVS, etc.

I'd clean the wound really well with Hibiclens, trim the feathers from out of the wound, then apply the triple antibiotic ointment.

If the initial cleaning with Hibiclens doesn't take care of the odor, then swab it daily for a few days before reapplying your ointment.

Is she eating/drinking o.k.?

She was in shock but she has been eating and drinking today. Not as much as normal yet though. I put Rooster booster in her water and hand fed her scrambled eggs.
