Duck/Goose Hybrid

No, I do not consier muscovies geese.

I think maybe I've never incubated geese, and thought they were 30 days! That's where the confusion was, totally on my end.
Hi subhanalah. You´re not wrong, there´s just confusion. Chicks 21 days. Ducklings, 28 days. Goslings 28 -30+ days, muscovies 35 days.
I always find it so strange that muscovies take so much longer.
And I cannot believe that that these eggs will hatch out a goose-duck hybrid.

me too....that's why I'm positively glued to this thread.

Me too. The female is going to lay eggs even if she is not breeding. The breeding may stimulate the laying of eggs. The claim that they are absolutely fertilized I question. It will be interesting to see what happens.
I know that she will lay completely regardless of a male being present......But her eggs she layed recently were indeed fertile.....The germinal disk in the yolk was very clearly visible and white.......a trait of a fertile egg.....Sure the ones she is sitting on now may not be, but almost all the ones prior were....If these ones dont hatch, I will be incubating the rest my self

Check this out. All about cross breeds and pics. Even has a goose duck hybrid! http://www.gobirding.eu/Photos/HybridDucks.php
Seen this before, the duck/goose is very pretty! This isn't hard to believe at all, considering the size of an Egyptain goose. Alot of people are doubting me about mine because its a mallardXafrican cross.....But mind you, she is a hatchery goose who isnt to standard size, she is only about 12lbs.....but still....very different and I look forward into this project more and more each day

Subscribing. I am interested in knowing if a duck and goose can produce live offspring.

Of coarse this has me thinking, and I doubt this would happen, of my Cayuga drake going after my Chinese or African females, or the Chinese gander going after the Cayuga females. Makes me wonder if that's how you get a black goose. Lol.

Please excuse my ramblings and do keep us informed about how the hatch goes.
