From what I’ve read I think my girl has egg yolk peritonitis. Symptoms are waddling, tail down, upright posture and now very weak and not eat or drinking much if at all. Two nights ago I noticed she wasnt up on the roost, so yesterday after observing her I put her in a pack and play in the garage. Our vet doesn’t treat chickens. Is there anything I can do at home? If so and she recovers is she more prone to this now? Or should I just put her out of her misery?

When was the last time she laid an egg? Have you given her any calcium? What is her diet? does she also have oyster shells provided at all times?
She free ranges and has layer feed … no calcium given. I some give the eggs back to them cracked. No idea last time she laid an egg

She gave her an Epsom salt bath I think she’s got an egg sideways close to her vent

Don't feel inside the vent anymore.

Get some Calcium Citrate+D3 if possible, give her 1 tablet asap (now), then once daily for 7 days.
If you don't or can't get Calcium Citrate, give her 1 TUMS daily.

It sounds like she's struggling to expel an egg, lash or other material.
Do work on keeping her hydrated. If she's lethargic, take care if you feel you must give her a bath, this may send her over the edge.
You can place her in a steamed up bathroom or provide her with a heating pad set on low.

It's always a good idea to provide Oyster Shell and Grit (Crushed Granite) free choice, even if they are getting layer feed and forage.

Thank you! I use to have oyster shells out years ago but I swear they didn’t touch em. I’ll get that going asap.
