Hello Everyone,

I always see the cool pics on the internet,
Like this one.
Handsome, right?
But it never says which the blue Cochin or the salmon faverolle is which parent.
I am thinking of getting a blue cochin roo to breed with my faverolle hen.
I think this is handsomer than the regular faverolle roo. Does anybody agree?
What are the BC roo's temperment? How much do they weigh?

That looks like a pure blue salmon faverolle rooster to me. Its not a faverolle/ blue cochin cross. That cross would produce black chicks and blue chicks not a wheaten pattern chicks.

Well then how do you get a blue faverolles? lol!
Blue Faverolles do exist but are extremely rare. This is a bantam blue hen.

This guy does look like a blue salmon Faverolles but he doesn't have a nice clean wing triangle, and his hackles and saddle feathers are too gold. If you like the blue salmon coloration they are in the US. Of all the "other" colored Faverolles they are probably the easiest to find. As with all blue poultry the blue/black/splash rules do apply to offspring.

Okay, So, does the Banty/SF/BC have five or four toes?
Would I get that without the Bantam Bloodlines?

Im not sure where the blue cochin keeps coming in or what youre trying to do.
The pic you showed is a blue salmon faverolle. Theres no cochin involved with him.
The bantam blue faverolle pic that was posted has nothing to do with a cochin either.
If you like either of them youll have to search a breeder out and purchase one.
If you want to cross a faverolle with a blue cochin go for it. But the chicks will not be colored like that blue faverolle or look like him type wise.

Okay,

I just got a bit confused.
I am new to the breeding part of chicken keeping.
Thanks for the info, my Dad doesn't want roosters right now but I do,
just try'n to get ideas of things like this.

Good night,
-TAH
