Oooooo...Brabanters are very rare indeed & they have Bantam varieties too. They have 13 varieties in Germany & something like 8 SOP varieties in Belgium ~ known for being cold hardy.

As w/most moderate layers or broodies rare birds almost go extinct in our USA! I always tried to order rare breeds here to keep them from going extinct but unfortunately my beloved Breda Fowl just didn't have enough customer interest. People want the exhausted egg breeds or hybrid layers rather than broodies or moderate layers. However, the rare breeds seem to be the most "eye candy" in the chicken world.

That's why I order the moderate layer Dominiques over Barred Rocks to keep Doms from going threatened or extinct plus I like the smaller rose combs rather than larger straight combs that get more tattered looking in old age.

W/ every breed there are plus/minus issues & over the years I figured what worked best for me.

It took four days for Nancy Rose to work out that a buffalo ear was too be chewed and eaten. She had her second one today and kept thanking me.

My DD's pups tear out the squeaky noisemakers inside their toys! No matter what dog toy they give the pups they tear out the squeaky things. Also DD told me not to ever think about buying any rawhide strips or rawhide bones for her dogs. Why? She said that the rawhide backs up in the dog's intestines. Good gracious ~ another thing to worry about w/pets! A 50-yr veterinarian says cat & dog food is so full of non-meat fillers & by-products that they should be fed raw meat. But now w/ AI being found in livestock, eating raw meat is now not safe! Oi-yoy-yoy! Drives me crazy cuz we've been feeding raw New Zealand lamb to our chickens for years!.

He may have flown out for the holidays as he has friends & family spread out everywhere. But then Coco was a little down too

I've only feed cooked chicken turkey and vegetables to Nancy so far and bought expensive foods for back up.

But they all add copper into these foods. I wish someone would sue these companies for selling toxic feeds.

Copper messes up their red and white blood cells causing kidney and liver failure.

I don't like using the word hate. But I hate loathe and despise these criminals for the amount of harm and heartache they've caused and they still continue to do so.

Same said for our human food providers they are a disgrace to humanity, all of them.

If someone deliberately poisons someone they go to prison. So how can these fends keep doing this
