No laughing today

I will tell why in a bit.
Meanwhile:
It’s cold and windy, so I kept the inside barn doors closed - which I rarely do as there are no windows in them - to help cut down on the drafts, it’s very windy here. The heat lamp is one and I am hoping it keeps the water bowl thawed. It did yesterday. Not sure who that is enjoying the warmth.

The Mr P Summer House crew are hanging out by the heater, I placed the water tub by the heater also to help keep it thawed.

As usual this morning the main gang was more interested in digging through the straw in the stalls.

And the horses remain plugged into the hay hut eating hay, blankets keep them snug!

Mama and the dumplings are in the crate in the feedroom.
Last night I noted Holly’s beak was over grown and started to get a hook (like an eagle) so I trimmed the tip off.
Only issue is young Missy was struggling and when I snipped it nipped the quick. Which bled like a son of a turnip. Of course I was freaking out, she was freaking out…. Then Georgie was freaking out.
Trying to stop it bleeding was just causing her more stress so I shoved her under mama and went to the house. At 8pm it was still oozing a bit of blood but it was dried up by this morning.
Poor pookie must have been scratching at it her feet feathers were a bit matted with blood, I dusted some cornstarch on them to try to clean them up. Then I left them in the feedroom for the day. Which has me all frustrated because I don’t have the camera in their crate.
I am going to leave work early today, get the camera moved back to the crate and bring the horses in early.
It will be as cold tomorrow so the babies and mama will stay in the crate tomorrow also. I’ll let them bop around the feedroom a bit when I get home.
