When the grunion run in So Cal, they come in on the waves. It is a fun night outing.
Yes same, the lay eggs in the sandy
Shore, they arrive in the thousands the waves would be alive.

Not so much now the Japanese have over fished them in the open waters - Canada has put a moratorium on them as well as other fish. The cod fishery was decimated in the late 80s so no one can fish them now commercially. People can fish up to 2 a day for a 2
Week period in the summer for personal use.

We call them Caplin, we salt and dry them, then they can be BBQ’ed and eaten. The whole thing. Salty! Crunchy….

Everything heads fins tails…..
At least I cut off the heads. I don’t like food that looks at me when I eat it! I’m not a monster

Who's saying she didn't? :gig:lau:gig:lau

I do feel like that was what she was thinking. That driving didn't look so hard. Imagine Aurora driving her tribe around. :gig:lau:gig:lau
You know, some cars from the 40s (ish) had push button shifters and such. I bet if they put a push button controller (read: peckable controller - for 'go', 'stop/park', 'reverse' and a slide controller for gas like a tractor that they could move...and an 'emergency brake' like on trains/subways ) on a side arm, had a steering wheel that was smaller ( and had a looped rope attached to the old fashioned suicide knobs). I BET anything Aurora could learn that.

Note: I would, of course, start her out in deserted parking lot with a driver's ed car (read - front passenger controls for the driver trainer!):lau:gig:lau

Mr Wyandottey is out there with his ladies, just honking away. I want to bring him inside and cuddle with him, but he will only do that in the afternoon when his lady friends are scattered about the yard. I don’t want to embarrass him, he’s a big man! All feathers. Without feathers, he would look like a rat on stilts!
Just saying.
But he’s my rooster and I love him 😍 IMG_4974.jpeg
