Queso is lite colored (like Swiss cheese)
The two barred ones have different personalities.
Jalapeño is a wanderer free spirit.
Frijole is more shy

You'll always be a better chickeneer ~ my DH won't sleep w/a chicken....he loves the birds but never could quite convince him to snooze w/ one

Important to note:
Don’t leave chocolate out in your houses.
I had a bag of Hershey kisses and they somehow got eaten. I’m the only one here. I was hearing noises at night, and I thought it was the cats running around.
NO, it’s the mice

Most animals have a sweet tooth but the chocolate is deadly for some...so maybe you'll find some carcasses in the morning?

2) If you are cutting down trees (I think you said one was growig through the deck and would be removed), the trunks and/or branches can make great roosts, and a long trunk/trunk segments can act as post(s) for the run.

Except this for long term. We used trees we cut down for the corner posts on our free range run and they rotted in all the rain we get here. It took about 8+ years, but still, we had to replace them with pressure treated wood last summer.

I’ll lone you Ruth, she caught and killed a mouse yesterday when I got home.

I did take it from her though, I was worried about parasites.

She is still extremely lame and her pain meds just are not working well for her. I am tempted to give her some of my pain meds. May do that.

Getting ready for my surgery
We had an overnight early bird. Looks to be brown leghorn, big white egg.

Hubby said he woke up (slept in the living room) to trilling and the big chicks all crowded the wall chirping and trilling back to the new baby.

Charcoal? Okay, then you’ll need a squirt of lighter fluid and a little steak and bbq sauce. We can have a bird belly barbecue!
