They wi grow really fast now!!! Do you have a place you can turn them loose in during the day to fly around? An basement room maybe?

I don't currently, we were going to work on the collapsed run and outdoor growout coop this weekend but it's snowing like crazy!

Hopefully they are good inside until the end of the month, usually end of March we have decent temperatures and the snow doesn’t stick down as long.

Kiddo says we can let them go in her bathroom what a mess they would make!

Missy is not impressed with the snow either.

She has taken to laying on my smelly old barn clothes.

Ok everyone have a lovely day, I need to clear some snow for my Uncle, he is coming home from Florida early this year, and parking his RV rig here, I need to make sure he can back into the spot.

I also need to deal with the ice dam over my front door which is tearing my eves trough off the roof (haven’t the foggiest idea on how to break that up), and clear the snow that has slid off my steel roof away from my basement windows; then I can do some housework. I already completed the horse stalls and hen house cleaning, watering and feeding. Hate Saturday’s.

As long as the didn’t fly up on things the bathroom floor would be east clean.

Snowing here also. And the wind is fierce! My horses did not want to go out this morning. I’ll bring them in early today if the snow doesn’t stop.

No mount poopmore today for the chooks I guess.

No these guys are the place I currently work, they are definitely not farmers hahaha.

Funny enough, a couple I worked with out west actually do raise ostrich, they have this huge incubator for the chicks. They have them for meat, leather and feathers. I was told they are dumb as stumps.

Aww yeah. I'm a bit north of Muskegon so not too terribly far. Maybe we can hang out one day!

Funny enough, a couple I worked with out west actually do raise ostrich, they have this huge incubator for the chicks. They have them for meat, leather and feathers. I was told they are dumb as stumps.

When I was younger my aunt gave me a journal bound in ostrich leather! I wish I still had it, the texture was really cool. I used it as my pokemon field journal Used to pretend I was a pokemon researcher and make sketches and notes of what I "found".


It's cold today, brrr. The past few days have been pretty nice, lows in the 30s and highs in the mid 40s to low 50s. Now today it's currently 20 with a feels like of 14, and a high of 27. Poor girls got a taste of the great outdoors for a couple days but now they're shut in the run again and you'd think they're being tortured in there with how they jump and kick at the walls and screech to be let out

My containment wall is all melted!!

I tried to get chickie pics for tax but they REFUSE to sit still for even a second...

I have to collect so many leaves for their run once the snow is melted in the woods. They really do break down really quickly with the chickens scratching around.

I would hate having to feed ostriches, or clean up their poop
I would have to get a hazmat team to clean the cecal stuff

I know! Sometimes I kick myself for all the things I lost or got rid of... Actually, it might still be around somewhere, maybe in storage at my mom's... I haven't seen it so far while searching thru some of my old things, though

A lot of my things got misplaced or thrown out when my mom and step dad divorced, the journal is probably one of them. I had a whole binder of pokemon cards! Nothing super rare or valuable as far as I know but it was still cool to have.
