Good idea. I’ll purchase some next time I’m in town. Till then, no more vacuuming for me

It’s really pouring down rain here now. I feel sorry for the chooks. It’s basically dry in the coop but there’s a chance of a few leaks in that tin roof.
I had a COPD flare up today when I was vacuuming the chicken room. Those episodes are no joke.

I wear a mask now when my am cleaning the hen houses and stirring up the wood shavings. It triggers my asthma - then I spend an hour coughing.

Cleaning the coop is bad enough for those of us without COPD or asthma. I wear a mask too. Glad that works for you.

Today I woke up in a ton of pain, took my meds and now I feel like I have strep throat. I can manage that!
We have two chicks that complain a lot. They stand next to the wall and peeppeeppeep all the time. As soon as I check on them they settle and do chicken stuff. I guess they're bored.
Hubby calls them Karen and Chatty Cathy. I believe one is the marans I helped hatch, the other may be mixed

For some reason during the winter, the coop is very humid and it keeps all the dust at bay. In summer though, dust flies everywhere and wood shavings don't help. I usually wear a mask in the summer.
