As promised I went out early and got pictures.

First off I am a idiot and apparently cannot count in the dark with a head lamp. Guess who greeted me at the back step? Yup, Barbosa. Little man spent the night outside of both coops. Thankfully neither he nor I paid for my stupid and careless mistake. I'm also thankful of his shoelace fetish. He has became very easy to scoop up if he is pecking at my shoes. I have learned carrying him inside the pen that I need to put a blocker by the door. I had a silkie stampede trying to escape. I will fix that first thing in the morning. It will be dark this evening when I get home to gather eggs so I should not have to worry about escapee's. I may try to put something in place tonight if I am not too tired. It is Tuesday, meatloaf Tuesday at the diner and by far our busiest day.

Goals for tomorrow. Block the door with something that I can step over. Start the process of taming the tiny terror Turkey. Turkey is a wild heathen who has had free reign and a terror of a momma so getting hands on has been a challenge. Confined I can now work with her one on one. I will win her over.

So... Guys... I have a question and I'm sorry it's kind of gross but I genuinely have no idea where else to ask 😅

My dad and I both get major diarrhea after eating our chickens' eggs. I think I have an intolerance to eggs in the first place but my dad is fine after eating store bought, but he's on the toilet all night after having our eggs.

Has anyone else dealt with this?? We had scrambled eggs for dinner yesterday and both of us had stomach aches all night. Grandma was fine though.

We'll start washing the eggs just before we use them from now on just in case that's the reason but it shouldn't be if the eggs are cooked thoroughly, right?

I want to enjoy my eggs without paying for it later 😭

Poor George was demanding to be let out. I did not open up the smaller coop until I was finished with the silkie pen. Ugh, growing up is so hard, as soon as he was loose he wanted in with the silkies. This is not permanent Georgie boy. I promise around the end of August to the middle of September I will let you all hang out again. From here on out I will only separate them from the Middle of December to the end of August.

One of the people buying my eggs has nasty food allergies and cannot eat commercial eggs (including pasture raised). Not sure what I'm doing that makes the eggs different but there's no problems with mine.

Means it's entirely possible for your eggs and commercial eggs to be different. Figuring out what changes might be needed is the challenge. Feed is the first thing that comes to mind.

We feed Kalmbach 20% flock maker. Treats like table scraps, veggies, fruits, oats, and dried bsfl only occasionally. The eggs we ate were all from the past 2 or 3 days so I doubt they were bad, but we'll start doing the float test before we use them.

I thought at first it was because of the milk grandma used in the scrambled eggs (I'm lactose intolerant and she never thinks to use my lactose free milk 😅), but dad pointed out that I also had the same reaction when we had plain fried eggs.

It's so weird! These eggs are so delicious but my stomach HATES them!
