Y'all what am I going to do? My young Leghorns, Australorp and Barnevelder have all decided they want to start trying to fly up on top of the coop and or roofed run when they are out in their fenced chicken yard. There was snow on the ground today and they decided flying was better then stepping in the snow. I looked like I was playing volleyball trying to block them from getting out! The fence is a temporay , portable plastic fence 5 ft tall. The GLW, SS can't get that high so I don't worry about them. I'm clipping their wing this weekend. Does 1 wing work best for these athletes?

I'd clip both wings.

I have the same issue. I ordered bird netting to put over my pen. I am thinking I will make a stand to hold up the middle like a tent? We will see! Lol!

you can't clip both wings, you have to clip one side only. locate where the end of the wing is and clip the feathers as short as you can without cutting too close to the wing but only do one side, like said the point is to unbalance them, if you do both sides with a strong hop they will still get up onto the coop.
